Wednesdays mean I’m here, again, as usual. With notes from squirrels about all we’ve done that they care about or haven’t been bribed to pretend they don’t notice.

At the school there were 3 classes. There was a trip to the zoo in San Diego in Reclaiming Your Childhood complete with gift cards for buying food and souvenirs. Anakin and Ahsoka tried to model diplomacy at a party in their Diplomacy. And my class on Other People’s Trauma talked about being changed without consent.

I’ve nothing from the dorms, unfortunately. I really think the poor porg ought to be given other things to do so he isn’t disappointed so often.

So, notes from the town. Ignis was contemplative at Luke’s and then Liliana arrived and they discussed grief and…licking? I really don’t need to know any more, thank you. How about we move on to The Perk where Don tried to have apple coffee but ended up with pumpkin spice. But pumpkin spice is delicious. Jaina had better luck getting what she wanted and Don seemed impressed by that. Liliana was also there, I assume before she went to the diner. She and Don discussed divinity and last week.

Gladio was inexplicably asked about his favorite snack at the gym before Jon came in to work out.

Prompto was battling…spreadsheets? At The Photo Hut. That sounds unpleasant.

And finally in the evening at Caritas Kitty was preparing for this weekend’s Three Minute Dates. I…don’t know if I ought to avoid the bar or not, really.

That’s all for yesterday.

Hey there, island! It's me, ya girl Arden Finch, bringing you yesterday's news today. Which...and I'm a little terrified to say it...seems to also be normal again? I mean, I say that and I'm gonna step out of the station and discover the sky is literally falling or something, but until that happens, I'm just gonna revel in the normalcy.

Hopefully things will stay normal, too, which will make classes at the School a lot easier to navigate. Speaking of navigation - did you see what I did there? - Flight and Flying had us flying jets in the Danger Shop which, can confirm, is still really nerve-wracking. Cryptozoology talked about the Mothman, which Billie making sure Professor Sims knew that the Mothman has a great [BLEEP]. Oh don't even start with me, you have no idea how glad I am to be able to swear normally again; I'm not gonna say 'great behind' or whatever. Thicc [BLEEP], Mothman's got a thicc [BLEEP], you heard it here first folks. And How To Swim went swimming in the pond in the park and I'm pretty sure I need to bring a bottle of sherry over to Lydia or something because, eeeeesh.

No Dorms, but we've got our usual batch of notes from Town! All around town, lots of people were out enjoying the beautiful weather. Or cleaning up the glitter, like Professor Vess was at the Infinite Consortium. Professor Scientia stopped by for lunch and they talked about going to Three Minute Dates this weekend. Which hey, you should go! It's honestly how I met a lot of my friends here! Riri also dropped by for coffee and to learn about necromancy. Vi was also cleaning up the Magpie Emporium because, yeah, glitter is everywhere. How? Don't even ask, it's glitter. Just ask Raiden at Pizza Planet because that was what he was doing, too! While keeping a whether eye out for more nonsense, which...fair.

Good news, Fandom! Needful Things has re-opened! Rey visited to check out the new merchandise, learn about sparkle vampires - what?! - and buy a chair from Doc Harley. The Trooper Station all got to enjoy the day by going for a run, and even if the only person having fun was Officer McGarrett. Professor James Stark and the nurses at the Clinic were trying to figure out how the crab tank had gotten covered in glitter and, well...again. Glitter. That's how it be. And apple themed drinks were on display at The Devil's Nest, which Professor Solo-Fel tried on Mr. Northman's...semi-recommendation.

And that's it for the notes today! Time for me to check to see if the sky is falling or not. Have a great rest of your day, Fandom. This is ya girl, Arden Finch, signing off, leaving you to enjoy Ariana Grande's Dangerous Woman. Talk to ya next week, Fandom! Arden out!

Stark didn't remember getting that much glitter on himself on Saturday but it still seemed to be on everything he owned.

The coffees he brought in with him as usual were, thankfully, not glittery.

The crab though? He was glittery. As was his tank and nearly everything inside it.

"He didn't even go outside Saturday," one nurse said. "And none of us took his tank anywhere."

"Maybe there was weather in here?" Stark suggested. "Or just in his tank?"

Stranger things had happened, even in the last week!

The clinic was open, the crab was excessively glittery, and the alien was in.

Good morning, everyone. The squirrels came back so I'm guessing I was right and this is a thing that's happening. I am a little annoyed I got dragged to the radio station for three notes though so maybe next time let's just do this at my house?

Anyway. Rey made it to work despite the glitter and zombie bunnies and the everything of this last week, and Bucky went for a patrol of the island, where Riri got to rightfully complain about how weird it's been, while also getting to see one of those old memory things that's been happening, of Bucky. Im sure that wasn't awkward for anyone.

And that's all that I have. It seems to be normal enough today, but I don't trust it. Enjoy it until something happens.

Okay, so things have somehow gotten weirder than before. Everyone, just stay indoors maybe? Like most people did yesterday. Glitter. So much glitter if you didn't notice. Personally, I'll be cleaning it out of the armor for months. Raiden did his best to keep it out of the food at Over Easy, but allowed it in the drinks. Harley came for brunch, but stayed for the shirtlessness and wings. And I don't think this is the squirrels being weird for once.

But that's all there was. Maybe everyone should cross their fingers for a nice, normal tomorrow?

*angry chittering*

I did not jinx it!

Oh for the love of--I'm heading home. Everyone. Have a safe one.

Good morning, everyone. If you are planning on going out today, do take an umbrella, although I am not certain how much good it shall do you. I am positively covered in sparkles, which the squirrels tell me are called 'glitter.' It's very pretty! But not quite what I had planned for this outfit.

Also, I had to run from a shark. This sort of thing is why I stay out of the sea, you know!

Let's get on with things, shall we?

At the school, Driver's Education started by having their students race, then introduce themselves. Shouldn't they get some education in how to drive first? No, no, you're quite right, I shouldn't tell the teachers how to do their jobs. Weather and Storms likewise introduced themselves, for our last set of the week.

Nothing from the dormitory, so let's move along to the town, shall we? I'm sure we all noticed that the laws of physics seemed to be suspended yesterday--yes, I know what the laws of physics are, don't look so surprised; Sir Isaac was English, you know--and the island's gremlin population seemed rather, ah, active yesterday. Also, the alligators with the goldfish--look, it was a day, all right? I'm sure we can all agree we had rather a day yesterday, but at least we had hands? I haven't very many notes on the situation--I suspect some of the squirrels of falling victim to the gremlins--but it seems that at Pick Your Poison, Dr. Isley was watching out the window, whilst Miss Skywalker was just trying to make her way through the chaos to her warehouse. I do hope she made it there safely, but alas, that is the last of my notes. Now I shall make my way back through the glitter, and the sharks, to the safety of my room, and you shall hear from me again next week, when hopefully things will not be so...much.

Good morning, everyone! ...am I the only one seeing a person very obviously dressed like a shrub in the corner right there?

*chittering*

Right. Um. Avast, Captain Barbossa. This is Steve Rogers, I'm no longer a pony and the dinosaurs are gone, but I did have to dodge alligators spitting goldfish and a rickshaw full of gremlins with a "FREE CANDY" sign on my way here, so it's only gotten stranger out there, folks. Let's get to the notes.

In classes yesterday, we all learned to be grateful for our thumbs. Raiden's class met in the park instead of using Portalocity because taking a bunch of ponies on a field trip would probably bring up a lot of questions. The students did introductions, with some being more okay with transforming than others. Tony and I were both ponies and were a little optimistic about how much baking our pony-fied students could do. Liliana didn't let being a pony stop her from lecturing her class about zombies, though she did skip introductions for this week. Summer and Stark, who both missed being ponied, texted with their thumbs about how great it was to have thumbs. Jon got clarification about what Liliana meant by "mindless" and Liliana learned what Jon meant by "Tory", and Erasmus and Liliana are apparently from two very different schools of necromancy. Liliana took a moment to boggle about it at Ignis after class, and Belle attempted to read a book with her nose in the library.

*chittering*

Because she was a pony, yes.

In town, Liz somehow didn't notice the ponies or the dinosaurs while Sabine turned into a pony and went out to fight dinosaurs. Luma wasn't a pony but she was avoiding stocking the new fall and winter clothing at Pixie Dust. Thor was talking to himself while figuring out how to serve drinks while having hooves, and the Supper Club only made it as far as J, GOB last night. Poor Henry thought this might be a really vivid dream, which it wasn't, but it also wasn't because Henry's a witch like Captain Flint tried to tell him. Flint was very grumpy about being a pony and he told Lydia he hadn't enjoyed being a teenager, either. Rey told Lydia that she had been throwing dinosaurs via telekinesis, which would've been very useful, and Flint hoped that his island butt tattoo didn't last into today. Did you check?

*rapid chittering*

I'm not trying to get you horribly murdered, Leroy. Ignis was at the bakery and a pony, and Liliana arrived riding a zombie dinosaur and it was--

*chittering*

I was going to say terrifying, too! Lydia told Liliana about her triumph in getting flour into her mug for our baking class yesterday and then admitted that she forgot she could've used magic to help. Oops. Flint was also there to express his displeasure about being a pony to Liliana. Well, it's worn off today, so time to move on.

This is Steve Rogers, and I'm watching the gremlins pull a giant anvil labeled "ACME" over the door to the studio--which has a glass door, so good job, guys--so be careful out there. Duck and roll, everyone.

wrongkindofsith: (~ Not a happy pony)
[personal profile] wrongkindofsith posting in [community profile] fandom_radio
*chittering*

Because I don't have hands, Leroy. Now hold them up. Higher.

So, as you might have noticed, the island is having one, and yesterday it involved snow monsters and teenagers, both which caused many problems.

Starting up at the School, where Space Pirates! (Pirates in Space!) had the 'wrong boat', and introductions. Health Education also had introductions, and Don looking tired.

Arden had to deal with snow monsters to get to the Library, where Gray was annoyed he was his own age for some reason, and Jon was a teenager.

The Dorms were quiet, despite the influx of teenagers, while in Town, things started with a round of awkward wake-ups, including Liliana and Ignis, and Steph and Vi. Gray was sulking at Over Easy, while Danny had to deal with many teens at the Trooper Station including the Troopers and Steve.

Snow monsters made several people's lives difficult, like Erasmus's search for 'proper tea' at the Perk being interrupted, though Liliana was able to help him with the snow monsters, but not his leaf water issues. Harley had similar issues while trying to find the gym, but Sabine was her knight in multicoloured armour, and put that glitter down Leroy, meanwhile the Park was the place to be if you were a teenage Jedi, because Jaina, Anakin, and Ahsoka were all having a time of it being teens, Jedi, and fighting snow monsters. And also Lana was there.

[personal profile] stykera posting in [community profile] fandom_radio
Good morning everyone, it’s Wednesday and there are snow monsters even though it is not winter and it’s not cold enough for snow but there is snow anyway. The island is certainly being…interesting this week.

Let’s start with the school. New classes this week. Reclaiming Your Childhood met at the campgrounds and got journals and wrote down things that would be fun before introductions and s’mores. Anakin had a hat just like mine in Diplomacy class and had his and Ahsoka’sstudents, many of them also with hats, practice meeting each other. And then my class, on Dealing with Other People’s Trauma mostly did introductions. With hats, again, for some of us.

Nothing from the dorms today. Sorry, porg. Now, the town.

There were pancakes at the diner for Ignis and his temporary headwear and then there was Liliana and we really needn’t go further into it than that. Gladio had a flower crown on his luxurious hai- did you need to write that? I suppose you did. Prompto had a flower crown at The Photo Hut. Remy, who did not seem to have any unusual hats of any kind, was at Needful Things, which wasn’t actually open, with his cats.

And then there was Raiden’s Beach Party. Raiden had a seafood boil and a fish fry and was wearing a flower crown. I wish I’d seen that. The day…got away from me.

*chittering*

No I don’t want to talk about it. Hush.

So. People that did make it to the beach included Luma looking for food that wasn’t fish, Eleanor who may have been inspecting hats while eating, Prompto and Noctra, of course. Rey and Raiden seemed to have trouble saying words they meant to say and saying different things instead. Steve was in a Hawaiian shirt but he’s from Hawaii so I don’t see why that’s interesting and a flower crown and he told Raiden how he’s teaching swimming now. Gladio had no shirt and learned that Gray will be working at Raiden’s new restaurant. was also there, he had a hat, and seemed very amused with something on his phone.

Danny had a flower crown. I wonder if it matched Steve’s? And asked Raiden about things that were not pineapple. Pineapples aren’t seafood, Danny. And Steve was disappointed that Danny’s shirt didn’t match his like the flower crowns may have. Lydia thanked Raiden for the party. Always a good idea. Ignis appreciated Raiden warning him of heat hazards and providing provisions. Erasmus did not think anyone was a murderer and was asked about his shrimp-peeling prowess. Hannibal also had a flower crown and was ready to eat.I would hope so. Raiden does well at keeping people full.

And Henry, with his flower crown, headed straight for the tables of food and then learned about shrimp and why they should be peeled.

That seems to be all for today. Look out for creatures made of snow. Oh fudge, there’s one right outside. I didn’t say fudge I said fudge. Oh. Oh, that makes the note about Rey and Raiden make more sense.

What up, island! It's me, ya girl Arden Finch, bringing you all the news of yesterday, which was both the first day of classes and Labor Day, so let's hear it for everybody to worked yesterday, whether in class or in town.

In School, we started our new classes, included Flight and Flying that had us doing introductions in an airplane, Cryptozoology, which also had introductions, and Professor Sims explained they'd be talking about animals that definitely don't exist. And then Dean Skywalker and Officer McGarrett were teaching How Not To Drown in the pool in the dorms, where everyone had to introduce themselves while getting into a pool.

Nothing for Dorms--

*the sound of running feet and a squawking porg*

--Wait! I guess I was wrong, there are Dorm notes! New student Riri - hi! - was in a common room with a whiteboard, documenting all the weirdness. Oh, you're going to need a lot more than a whiteboard. Erasmus - hi, again! - came by to share notes on weirdness, including that Riri tastes like a white castle...what?...and Erasmus like shrimp. They were thinking about taking a survey to see if other people tasted like things - can confirm, I'm told I tasted like chicken. I'm just not going to think about that too hard.

but Town was buzzing with people. For starters, there were a number of weird...things...showing up all over town. Weird images, like, literal flashes from the past, if the fashion and cell phone tech are to be believed. Pick Your Poison was dealing with a boob-obsessed ghost, which is a sentence I'm being forced to read, sure. Doc Harley came by to tell Dr. Isley that she tastes like fizzy lemon candy, while Dr. Isley discovered she tasted like roses, and then they talked a bit about the Doc Harley that lives in Gotham. Mr. Barnes arrived in time for his shift at Mystery Sign Theater 3000. Mayor Faden told him that he came back on a weird week, what with the mayor tasting like beets and Mr. Barnes like gun oil, and the--oh! She is referring to them as 'temporal events' and that sounds so much less dumb. Vi was swapping games for more fall-suited ones at Magpie Emporium and today I learned that board games can be seasonal. Raiden left Pizza Planet in a hurry after realizing that he tasted like...something.

After class, Professor Sims dropped off at The Perk for tea and to take notes. And Officer McGarrett was answering phones at the Trooper Station, telling people not to lick each other. Which I guess they needed to be told. Officer Williams came by with lunch and blaming Officer McGarrett because he tasted like pineapple, while McGarrett tasted like salt water taffy, and telling him to keep the Troopers from licking each other, either. The nurses at the Clinic were also licking each other and Professor James Stark was having none of that. In the evening, Professor Tony Stark and Professor Rogers were at home in the Stark Towerlet, eating ice cream and being very cute - sorry, sirs - about their complementary flavors.

And that's it for notes! So this is ya girl, Arden Finch, signing off. I'll be heading to class and then to Ray's picnic, which I hope to see y'all at! Until then, enjoy Dance in the Dark by Au/Ra.

[Aaaaaaaaaaand guess who did NOT hit post before I left my house for almost the entire goddamn day. And then also posted to the wrong journal! TODAY IS WINNING!]

"I do not want to know what the crab tastes like," Stark said hurriedly. "Please tell me none of you really licked the crab."

"What about the rest of us?" a nurse asked, eyebrow raised. "We might all be delicious."

"You can drink your coffees and eat these donuts instead of licking people," Stark said. "That's my plan."

There wasn't anyone around he wanted to lick at this time and nobody around he wanted to gleefully tell that he tasted of Death by Chocolate cake.

"I taste like grape lollipops," one nurse offered. "Wanna see?"

"No thank you," Stark said.

He hoped nobody was going to lick him in here but you could never be sure. Not on this island.

There are only a couple notes: Erasmus was exploring in the woods and finding creepy mansions, while Henry was taking care of and talking with his horse in the stables. I should say "talking to." The horse wasn't talking back. One weird thing at a time.

Speaking of which, I have eight-year-olds who are going to be very weird about licking things today so I guess I'll see you next week when the squirrels get pushy again.

Oh, there's the pile of notes. At least you're making the kidnapping worth my time. Hi, new folks. This is Tony Stark, bringing you the news of the day. You get used to the gossip of the squirrels eventually. Just treat them like paparazzi sometimes.

But let's get started. First off, we have Raiden... eating a giant mayonnaise gummy bear at Over Easy.

...

...

Okay, moving on! The welcome picnic happened up at the school. First up was the new students getting to meet their faculty advisors! Erasmus getting a little information overload from Ghanima. It is a lot to figure out in a short period of time. Riri found out that the moose wasn't a joke from Jaina and questioned the legality of the place. Bllie... was actually the most on the ball with all the oddness of this island, surprising Don a bit.

Erasmus met his roommate, Henry comma boy. Thanks for the clarification, porg intern. They had a slight miscommunication on language after finding out that one is a necromancer--Oh, like Liliana!--and the other is from many centuries ago. Riri and Billie also ended up roommates and did the usual settling of issues that might arise. Including a nickname.

Erasmus also met Stark who... okay, that's kind of funny. Who, through a series of misunderstandings, Erasmus thought might be a serial killer. Arden and Erasmus bonded over sweet tea. Ugh. Give me coffee over that any day. Riri and Erasmus planned to pool information on the place like they're running an investigation. Which is adorable. Don had concerns about my and Steve's baking class for some reason. But wasn't surprised by the fire extinguishers purchased for it. Rude. Anakin and Jaina talked about politics back home after he was thanked for watching her kids. Stark was concerned that Anakin would bring his shenanigans to the bus ride. Which seems like a lot of work for only three students. Go big or go home, I say. Don learned all about the bakery that Steve let me buy to have access to French patisserie while overseas. Steve and I discussed our new class for the fall. And... Steve was Steve about Riri cursing. Oh, sounds like someone recognized him. Or maybe just someone who looks like him. Billie explained what a DJ was to Luma before they talked about California. Charlie and Billie bonded over music and compared magic and time travel. Oh yeah, that kid fits right in here. Rey and Stark talked about what class he was teaching this semester and what it meant.

But that seems to be all the notes the squirrels decided to gather. Which means it's very possible they were distracted by the food at the picnic. I certainly was. Hopefully everyone settles in well and enjoys their time here!

Hello everyone, it's Steve Rogers back with the news. I hope everyone had an enjoyable week off, and I look forward to seeing you all at the picnic tomorrow!

But first let's get to the news! There wasn't anything in classes or the dorms, but over in town, even a week off of classes isn't enough to knock Liz off stride on her month reports. Prompto had her check on his--the squirrels have 'excessive' but I'll say 'comprehensive' packing list for his weekend trip away in years. Luma was refusing to stock sweaters--bad news, but September starts Monday--and to really drive that home, it's pumpkin spice coffee season at the Perk, even if Kitty stuck to an iced mocha.

And that's everything! Have a great Labor Day weekend, everyone. Thank a union member.
